Welcome to Bastion. Your privacy is our absolute priority. This Privacy Policy outlines how the Bastion Android application handles your information. Our core philosophy is simple: we do not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data.
1. Data Collection & Usage
Bastion is designed to operate entirely locally on your device. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect personal information, usage analytics, or browsing history.
- Local Storage: Your focus session statistics, blocked app preferences, and granular control settings are stored exclusively on your device's local storage.
- No Cloud Syncing: We do not upload your screen time data or blocked app lists to any external servers.
2. Use of Accessibility Services API
Bastion requires the use of the Android AccessibilityService API to function properly. This is a core requirement for our app blocking and granular feature blocking mechanisms.
Bastion uses the AccessibilityService API strictly to detect when you open applications or specific sub-features (such as Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts) that you have chosen to block. When the service detects a blocked package or interface element, it displays an overlay to prevent access and help you maintain your focus.
Data Privacy Guarantee regarding Accessibility:- The AccessibilityService is strictly used to read the currently active window package and view IDs to determine if a block should be triggered.
- NO DATA IS RECORDED: We do not log, record, or store your screen content, keystrokes, messages, or passwords.
- NO DATA IS TRANSMITTED: Information processed by the AccessibilityService never leaves your device. It is evaluated in real-time and immediately discarded.
3. Third-Party Services
Bastion may display advertisements using Google AdMob. Google AdMob may collect device-specific information (such as your device model, operating system version, advertising ID) to serve non-personalized or personalized ads depending on your device settings. You can learn more about how Google uses this data at Google's Privacy & Terms.
4. Children's Privacy
Bastion does not knowingly collect any personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13. Because our app does not collect personal data from anyone, children's data remains safe and strictly local to their device.
